A Musical Country Wedding

Laura and Claire’s wedding was such a special day and it was an absolute pleasure to be their wedding photographer.

The brides chose the beautiful setting of Fitzleroi Barn in the West Sussex countryside (between Petworth and Pulborough) as their wedding venue, and it was a great location for taking both indoor and outdoor wedding photographs.

The day began with some getting ready shots at the brides’ house, then to the Roundabout Hotel in West Chiltington, where Laura’s mother and family/other guests were staying, and then it was on to the really charming Fitzleroi Barn for the ceremony and reception. Despite the different locations, it all ran smoothly and was pretty relaxed.

The weather even held out despite the ominous dark clouds and I was able to get some great couple shots out in the field with the dramatic sky as a backdrop.

There was a real sense of fun and individuality at Claire and Laura’s wedding; from the tables themed around different musicals they’d seen, to the surprise singers who had been pretending to be waiters and then burst into song – one had even pretended to trip up during the speeches! Laura’s mum had no idea and all this led to much laughter and some brilliant moments to capture for their wedding album.

It’s those little touches that can make the day so special and unique – and make my job so enjoyable!
